Jahrhunderts gab es in Nienburg eine Poststation nach der Vorgabe von Thurn und Taxi.\u00a0Diese ehemalige Poststation ist auch heute noch als Posthof in der Georgstra\u00dfe in Nienburg (Weser) bekannt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zur Zeit des Kurf\u00fcrsten und sp\u00e4ter des K\u00f6nigreiches Hannover war der Posthof eine der wichtigsten Poststationen des Landes.\u00a0Hauptaufgabe war der Pferdewechsel der ankommenden Postkutschen als eine Art Relaisbetrieb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gleichwohl gab es f\u00fcr die Reisenden im Geb\u00e4ude Warter\u00e4ume oder sie nahmen in den anliegenden Hotels Zur Post und Stadt London (heute Gesch\u00e4ftshaus Meyer) ihr Durchreisequartier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In der Zeit der Personalunion zwischen Hannover und Gro\u00dfbritannien, in der Zeit von 1714 \u2013 1837 war der Posthof eine Au\u00dfenstelle des britischen Secret Service.
